Rossview senior basketball player Macy Rippy scored her 1000th career point against Forrest on December 27, and the school honored her achievement last Thursday before the Lady Hawks’ game against Cheatham County Central.
“Macy has been a huge part of our team’s success but one of the best things about her is she is just as happy for her teammates’ successes if not more so than her own,” her coach Justin Woods said. “She understands it’s a team game. Scoring 1000 points is obviously a tremendous accomplishment for Macy and also our program.”
Rippy is only the third Lady Hawk to reach this milestone in Rossview’s 17-year history, joining Janie White and Karle Pace in the 1K Club.
“I think it just shows her consistency over her career, not only in her performance in games but in her work ethic and commitment to getting better,” Woods added. “Macy got to watch Karle break 1000 when she was a sophomore. Karle saw Janie do it as a freshman. So who knows which one of our young players is going to be the next to join the group but it’s exciting.”
Rippy signed a national letter of intent earlier this fall to attend and play basketball at Tennessee-Martin next year.
