Stewart County wide receiver Conner Andrews, who had a monster game in the Rebels’ 40-0 win over East Hickman, is this week’s Boom Sports Media Player of the Week, sponsored by Sporty’s Award & Engraving.

Andrews won the fan vote handily, then held off West Creek’s Yahsir Thomas in the expert panel vote to take the award.

The junior wide receiver had five catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns, three rushing attempts for 27 yards, and an 18-yard kick return (197 total yards) in the win, which lifted Stewart County to 3-1. “He can do it all whether it is receiving, rushing, or returning. He is one of the better athletes that I have had the opportunity to coach,” his coach Chanz Swartz said.

Here’s how the votes added up

Connor Andrews, Stewart County • 475 fan votes + 259 expert votes (5 of 16 experts) = 734 total votes

Yahsir Thomas, West Creek • 67 fan votes + 311 expert votes (6 of 16) = 558 total votes

Joe Moseley, Cheatham County • 247 fan votes + 52 expert votes (1 of 16) = 299 total votes

Mark-Anthony Prescott, Rossview • 14 fan votes + 155 expert votes (3 of 16) = 169 total votes

Michael Kennedy, Clarksville High • 26 fan votes + 52 expert votes (1 of 16) = 78 total votes

Congratulations to Andrews and all the finalists. Your achievements are praiseworthy!
