Tyler Heckert had four RBIs and Jerrett Edmondson hit a three-run home run as Sycamore (20-10-1) beat Greenbrier for the District 9AA championship tonight.

Sycamore jumped on the Bobcats early, and led 5-0 through 1 1/2 innings. But Greenbrier stormed back in the bottom of the second, scoring four, and chasing Sycamore starter Bryan Ramirez. Reliever Kenny Harris shut the Bobcats down, not allowing any runs in 5 2/3 innings.

The score remained 5-4 until the top of the fifth when Edmondson homered, making it 8-4. Sycamore added an insurance run in the top of the seventh.

In Monday’s Region 5AA first round, Sycamore will host Hume-Fogg who lost to Martin Luther King 20-0 in the 10AA title game.
