Rossview Hawks vs. Montgomery Central Indians (Boys Basketball) 1/7/2020

Two teams looking for their first district win will square off tonight ass the Rossview Hawks host the Montgomery Central Indians.  Rossview enters the game with a record of 1-12 (0-5 District 10AAA), while Montgomery Central sports a record of 2-9 (0-5 District 10AAA).  Both teams will be looking to build momentum off of tonight’s game as the district schedule begins to heat up.

The Hawks will be playing their first game since December 30th, where they lost a close fought battle to Loretto in the Middle Tennessee Invitational.  The Hawks finished 6th overall in the tournament.  The Hawks will be looking to junior small forward Spencer Mimms to continue his strong offensive season.  He currently leads the team with 16.2 points per game and is shooting 33% from beyond the arc. 

Montgomery Central is also playing their first game in the new year.  Their previous game also came on December 30th, when the Indians defeated Lewis County 74-57.  This marked their first win since the season opener, when Montgomery Central beat Fort Campbell.  The Indians will be looking to use this latest win as a foundation and motivation moving forward, as their next eight games are against district rivals. They are led by senior forward Issac Rankhorn, who averaged 27.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists over 3 games in the Above The Rim Tournament during the holidays.

Tip-off is at 7:30PM from Rossview High School.
