PLEASANT VIEW (August 15, 2018) — Defending District champion Sycamore picked up where they left off last season.

In Tuesday’s season opener, Sycamore jumped on Northwest early and often, grabbing a 7-0 halftime lead and ending the game with 9-0 margin at 23;00 left in the game.

Sophomore sensation Alex Barnhill had a hat trick, but she was hardly alone in the scoring column. Reagan Sutton, Emily Fisher, Gracelyn Coggins, Brayden Suiter, Kaitlynn Wofford, and Jerika Vargas-Garcia all had a goal in the victory
The Lady War Eagles got assists from Coggins, Wofford, Rudy Fisher, Sutton, Emily Fisher, Kelsie Green, and Barnhill.

Goal keepers Emily Robertson and Brayden Suiter combined for the “clean sheet.”

“(We) tried a couple new lines out which worked well,” Sycamore head coach Sheila Anliot said.” We were able to work on technique a bit more than in a typical game since we were ahead so early. Girls made quality passes, I was pleased with the spatial awareness.”

Sycamore doesn’t play again until August 23, when they will face Donelson Academy. Northwest is back in action on August 16 against Montgomery Central.
