It’s basketball season! And we saw some great performances in the first week. Here are your finalists for Week 1:
• Cierra Bowser, Northeast – The sophomore point guard averaged 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals in 2 games. One win and one loss. “Cierra is starting to be a true leader on the court. She has led the team in scoring both games. She has the ability to do great things for this team,” her coach Tracie Mason-Blair said
• Destiny Hill, Clarksville High – The senior guard had 18 points, 11 rebounds, 7 steals, 3 blocks in two games this week for the Lady Wildcats. “Near the end of the Brentwood game Destiny dove out of bounds to save a ball and tore her ACL on her other knee and will be out for the season,” her coach Brian Rush said.
• Reagan Fisher, Kenwood – The sophomore wing guard had 12 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to Station Camp, and 15 points in win over Hillwood. “Reagan came off the bench to lead team in scoring and rebounding in first game. The sophomore appears to be getting comfortable in a scoring role for the team. She averaged 13.5 points per game in two games and has been solid overall with her floor game,” her coach Charles Clark said.
