There were some tremendous team performances in October! In fact all four of our nominees went to the state playoffs:

Harpeth Volleyball made a tremendous post season run, winning their district and region championships! They then went on to win their sectional match, and went back to the TSSAA Class A State Tournament for the first time since 2014. After losing their opening round match, they battled back to come in third in the state. They finished with a record of 34-8.

Clarksville High Girls Soccer made it back to the state tournament the first time since 2016 when they won the whole thing. The 16-4-3 Wildcats won their district and region championships, but lost 4-1 to Houston in the State Tournament first round game.

Sycamore Football went on a run at the end of the year that not only landed them in the state playoffs, but allowed them to host a playoff game for only the second time in school history. Few people saw that coming after a tough September. With their playoff loss, the War Eagles finished 5-6.

Clarksville High Football went undefeated in October, a part of a five-game winning streak that landed them in the playoffs, where they were the only team in our area to win in the first round. The Wildcats finished 7-5.

Here’s a review of how the voting is conducted:

(1) All voting is through a third-party polling group. For Team of the Month voting, there are no restrictions set by Boom Sports Media or the award sponsor, Golly G’s. You may vote as often as you choose. However, if the polling group detects unusual voting patterns (i.e. multiple votes from multiple devices from one IP address/router) then the polling group may choose to block that voter for a short period of time. We have no control over their software/algorythms/etc. (We advise you not to have a “voting party” in one location with multiple devices using the same router.)

(2) The winning team, its coaches and its managers will all be treated to an ice cream party by Golly G’s at the location closest to the team’s school.

(3) The voting began as soon as this post appeared on our website, and will end at midnight on Friday, November 29.
